Small Business Recommendations

On April 10, 2006, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that the SEC Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Companies (ASCPC) will meet on April 12 to consider comments received on its Exposure Draft (ED) containing recommendations on internal control reporting, accounting, and other matters, which was issued for public comment on February 28.

The meeting, set to begin at 10:00 am, will be conducted via conference call, and members of the public can listen via webcast or by calling (800) 260-0718 and using code number 823292.

According to the SEC's announcement, an updated draft Final Report (as of April 10, 2006) will be discussed at the April 12 meeting. Materials relating to the meeting are being posted here.

FEI Small Public Company Task Force Sends Comment Letter

FEI's Small Public Company Task Force, chaired by Rick Brounstein, EVP Calypte Biomedical Corp., submitted a comment letter to the SEC ACSPC on March 30. A summary of the comment letter is available here. Brounstein also serves in his personal capacity as a member of the internal control subcommittee of the SEC ACSPC.
